Tumwater teen reports attempted abduction Monday on school bus route

Thurston County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating an attempted abduction on Fir Tree Road on Monday (Nov. 30) morning.

A 16-year-old female student from Tumwater High School reported to the School Resource Officer that while she was waiting for the school bus in the 6700 block of Fir Tree Road, a newer model four-door sedan with dark tinted windows drove up and stopped.

She said a bald, black man in his 20s got out of the car and approached her. She said he was holding what looked like a taser and stated "Just get in the car." The student pushed the man and he got back in his car and left, heading toward Rainier Road.
