Gun in boyfriend’s pocket wounds Centralia woman
A 21-year-old woman who came to Olympia’s Providence St. Peter Hospital with a gunshot wound early Monday morning was shot accidentally, according to police.
The Centralia Police Department was contacted by the Olympia Police Department at approximately 1 a.m. Monday after their officers were summoned to the emergency room at St. Peter because a patient had arrived with a gunshot wound, according to a news release from Centralia police.
Centralia investigators, assisted by Olympia detectives, determined that the victim was shot when a pistol in her boyfriend’s pocket accidentally discharged. The wound, which was not life-threatening, was treated and the woman was released.
The 18-year-old boyfriend, a convicted felon, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for unlawful possession of a firearm and outstanding warrants.
