1.Collision blocks northbound I-5 at Nisqually River Bridge: No one was injured when a semitractor-trailer crashed into a guard rail Friday afternoon at the Nisqually River Bridge on Interstate 5, but northbound traffic was affected all afternoon, according to the Washington State Patrol.

3. 6 children injured in Olympia school bus crash: Most of the injuries are bad bruises and swelling, and none were life-threatening, Lower said. The children were transported to local hospitals by various means, Lower said, and the driver of the car was treated for neck pain and released from a hospital. About 40 students were on the bus when the collision occurred.
4. Judge finds Thurston County woman guilty of abusing her 9-year-old granddaughter: A 55-year-old Lacey woman was found guilty Thursday of abusing her granddaughter over the course of several years.
5. Suspect accused of killing girlfriend’s dog: At the scene, David N. Gibson told the deputy he killed the dog because he “snapped.” Gibson said he had been in the kitchen making food when he dropped gravy on the 3-year-old rat terrier named Gurl. When he tried to give the 9-pound dog a bath, the dog nipped at him. Gibson told the deputy he then choked the dog and slammed her against the tub.
