Loud noise prompts Olympia’s Centennial Elementary to go into lockdown
Centennial Elementary School in Olympia went into a modified lockdown about 12:55 p.m. Monday, according to Susan Gifford, a spokeswoman for the Olympia School District.
The school’s custodian had reported hearing possible shots fired in the area, according to Thurston County sheriff’s Lt. Cliff Ziesemer.
“The deputies were unable to find where the shots came from or if there were shots,” he said.
The school is at 2637 45th Ave. SE, Olympia. The lockdown lasted about 10 minutes, Gifford said.
