Salvaging plants: WSU’s Native Plant Salvage Project is recruiting volunteers to recover small native trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants from development sites scheduled for clearing. Plant salvage occurs between 9:30 a.m. and noon, when hot lunch is served. After lunch, volunteers transfer plants to the native plant nursery on Olympia’s west side and put plants in pots until about 3:30 p.m. Events are Sunday, March 5 and 13.
