Paris Climate Summit: State, city and faith perspectives: Three participants in the Paris meetings — Jay Manning of Pacific Coast Collaborative, former Olympia Mayor Stephen Buxbaum, and Bill McPherson, with the Compact of Mayors and Washington Unitarian-Universalist Voices for Justice — give their perspectives, 7-9 p.m. at the Olympia Unitarian Universalist Congregation Church, 2300 E. Science Cafe: A New Look at the Mima Mounds: This study started as an idea for an undergraduate geographic information system lab to see whether tools designed for hydrology analysis could classify the Mima Mounds. High-resolution elevation data made this possible and more than 27,000 mounds in five prairies in southern Thurston County were identified.
