Science Cafe: A New Look at the Mima Mounds: This study started as an idea for an undergraduate geographic information system lab to see if tools for hydrology analysis could classify the Mima Mounds. High-resolution elevation data made this possible and more than 27,000 mounds in five prairies in southern Thurston County were identified. Find out more at 7 p.m. at Orca Books, 509 E.
