Level 3 sex offender James Jurss registers in Thurston County

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office has issued a notification about the registration of Level 3 sex offender James R. Jurss.

Level 3 offenders pose the highest risk of re-offending. Jurss, 29, will reside in the 700 block of Salzburg Lane Southeast located east of Lacey, according to the sheriff’s office.

In 2000, Jurss pleaded guilty in Illinois to two counts of criminal sexual contact and was sentenced to home detention with court-ordered treatment for up to 60 months. He was convicted for sexually assaulting two males when he was 14 years old.

In 2009, Jurss pleaded guilty in Thurston County Superior Court to one count of communication with a minor for immoral purposes and was sentenced to 26 months in custody. He was convicted for having sexual contact with a 14-year-old female when he was age 23.

Jurss is a white man who is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
