South Sound People: Lacey Timberland Library honors teen writers

Lacey Loves to Read, a community literacy program sponsored by the City of Lacey, South Sound Chamber, North Thurston Public Schools and the Lacey Timberland Library, has announced the winners of this year’s “Teen Short Story Contest.”

Winners receive a Lacey Loves to Read prize pack, book bag, and get to have their work published in the 2016 Teen Writing Contest collection ebook, available for download at www.trl.org. Honorable mention winners receive a Lacey Loves to Read prize pack and a book bag.

All Timberland Regional Library programs are free and open to the public.

Here are this year’s winners:

1st place: Claire Hill, North Thurston High School, 12th grade.

2nd place: Kayli Robles, Timberline High School, 10th grade.

3rd place: Amber Granger, North Thurston High School, 12th grade.

Honorable mention: Monique Otter-Johnson, Timberline High School, 10th grade.

Honorable mention: Micah Oldright, Timberline High School, 10th grade.
