Sunday

International Women’s Day celebration: A panel of women will discuss issues they have faced, 1-3 p.m., Abigail Stuart House — Woman’s Club of Olympia, 1002 Washington St. SE, Olympia. Cookies, tea and coffee provided. Donations accepted.

The Esoterics: St. John’s Episcopal Church will offer choral music inspired by the poetry of Sufi mystic Rumi, 3 p.m., corner of 19th Avenue Southeast and Capitol Way, Olympia. Donations accepted. Free child care.

The United Churches of Olympia federation celebration: The church is celebrating 100 years of its federation during 2016. Sunday services at 9 and 10:30 a.m. will include historical remembrances. This month’s theme is Easter bonnets. Everyone is encouraged to wear an Easter bonnet or a hat. The celebration Sunday will include an Easter bonnet display by Masque and Pettycote, professional costumers. The United Churches is at 110 11th Ave. SE, Olympia.

Wednesday

Community Orchestra concert: The South Puget Sound Community Orchestra will play a free concert featuring musical and movie medleys at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Black Hills High School, 7741 Littlerock Road. Information: ci.tumwater.wa.us.

Thursday

Collecting or Hoarding? How to Identify When You’ve Crossed the Line: Elain Carroll, owner of Habitat for Your Sanity, will speak from 2:30-4 p.m. about how we acquire and maintain levels of stuff. Homes First fundraiser: The National Association of Professional Mortgage Women is sponsoring a St. Patrick’s Day event to support Homes First! and affordable rental housing in Thurston County. The event is 7-10 p.m. at Tugboat Annie’s, 2100 West Bay Drive NW, Olympia. Tickets are $25 per ticket or $45 per couple, call 360-753-5626 or 360-280-9690.

Olympia World Affairs Council: “Maintaining the Mandate of Heaven: Power, Prosperity and Problems in 21st Century China,” is the topic of this month’s meeting featuring Karl Field, professor of Asian Politics and Government at the University of Puget Sound. Sunshine Preschool Open House: Teachers will be on hand 5-7 p.m. to answer questions and give tours of the preschool classroom. Author Jerry Ramsey: In his book, “Stealing Puget Sound: 1832-1869,” author Jerry V. Ramsey exposes the political tension between the first British settlers and the U.S. pioneers who crossed the Oregon Trail 15 years later. Ramsey will tell the story at the Tenino Timberland Library from 2-3:30 p.m., 172 Central Ave. W. Information: 360-264-2369.
