Rachel Corrie Foundation will remember activist with potluck dinner
The Rachel Corrie Foundation will take time to remember activist Rachel Corrie with a potluck dinner from 6 – 8:30 p.m. tonight, in Koinonia Hall at the First Christian Church, 701 Franklin St. SE, in downtown Olympia. The event will reflect on Corrie’s stand in Gaza 13 years ago and those who continue to live and struggle there.
Corrie, a pro-Palestinian activist was killed when she and other activists sought to block an Israeli bulldozer they believed was about to demolish Palestinian homes in Rafah, a town on the Gaza border.
Featured guest will be Alice Coy, International Solidarity Movement activist, visiting from the UK, who was with Corrie in Gaza in 2003.
