Tumwater area near Yelm Highway without power after circuit fails

Update: Olympia High School, Washington Middle School, Pioneer Elementary and Good Shepherd preschool are without power. Phone lines are also currently unavailable, the Olympia School district tweeted.

Earlier: A failed circuit has knocked out power to more than 1,700 customers in the Tumwater area near Yelm Highway, according to Puget Sound Energy.

Power failed at 1:56 p.m. Thursday, but is expected to be restored at 4 p.m., according to the utility’s outage map.

Thurston County Public Health & Social Services on Lilly Road in northeast Olympia also is without power.
