The Lacey City Council will focus on big-picture ideas at its annual retreat next month, including annexations, transportation and regional athletics.

The council will meet April 22 at the Lacey campus of South Puget Sound Community College.

Up for discussion will be what City Manager Scott Spence called “issues that will really transform Lacey.”

The following discussion topics were suggested:

▪ City annexations.

▪ Transportation, including the idea of a street car on Martin Way.

▪ Next steps for the Regional Athletic Complex.

▪ Branding Lacey as more of a destination.

Lacey Mayor Andy Ryder said he wants “clear direction on things we can accomplish and guidelines to get there.”
