Man falls from freeway overpass near Tumwater
A man who fell about 25 feet from a freeway overpass in Tumwater on Saturday was conscious when found, according to a lieutenant with the West Thurston Regional Fire Authority.
About noon Saturday, fire crews and medics were dispatched to the 93rd Avenue overpass at Interstate 5. That’s where they found a man in the northbound shoulder of the freeway, said Lt. Lanette Dyer.
The man, who was thought to be in his early 50s, was conscious and taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital, she said. Other details were not immediately available. Dyer said he did not have a local driver’s license.
The incident slowed northbound traffic on Saturday, she said.
