South Sound People: Mason General Hospital selects employee of the month

Mason General Hospital and Family of Clinics has named Amy Nussbaum employee of the month for March, according to a press release from the hospital.

Nussbaum is a medical/surgical/pediatrics nurse, and has worked at the hospital for almost three years, after completing her nursing degree at South Puget Sound Community College.

Nussbaum went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in photography at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

“In photography and in my many customer service jobs, I learned how to work with all types and groups of people,” Amy commented. “Those past experiences have helped me become a better nurse.

“Amy has really impacted our department in her three short years here,” said her nominator. “She is the lead trainer for new hires, including students. Amy never complains, always has a positive attitude and looks for ways to improve the patient experience. She is consistently mentioned in patient evaluations as kind, caring, and someone who really takes care of patients on a personal level.”

Nussbaum was born and raised in the Shelton area, and graduated from Shelton High School in 1995. Her parents are Dan and Pam Ward.
