World Peace & Other 4th Grade Achievements: A film about a game where teams of students collaborate and negotiate for their pretend countries until all issues are resolved will be screened 7-8:30 p.m. at Unity of Olympia, 1335 Fern St. SW, 360- 943-5757. Teachers are encouraged to see this film. No charge but donations accepted for Evergreen Vista.
April 2
“The Quest for the Crowns”: A fundraiser for Capital City Pride hosted by Jaycub Atom and Jadys Diamond kicks off at 7 p.m. at Rhythm & Rye, 311 Capitol Way N., in Olympia. Doors open at 6 p.m. Cover charge is $7. Must be 21and older with ID. Performers are Rock Candy Burlesque, Mylo Precious and Adonia the Sword Woman. After-event entertainment by Feast of Egos. Proceeds benefit Olympia Pride.
Puget Sounders barbershop chorus: The chorus will present an a cappella variety show at 7 p.m. at Tumwater High School Auditorium, 700 Israel Road SW. The program will feature the chorus plus eight men’s and women’s barbershop quartets, singing popular songs, mostly from the 1950s and 1960s. Tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for students, seniors and military, and are available at the door. Information: Bob Hart, 360-754-9397.
Book-signing and donation: TL Walker, author of “Alex Twice Abducted,” will sign his book 1-3 p.m. at Mystical Cupcakes in the Capital Mall. Half of the cost of each book will support cross-country teams at Black Hills, Tumwater, W.F. West and Centralia high schools. The story revolves around 15-year-old Alex, who is dying of unknown causes and is abducted by aliens. TL Walker is a local author.

Panorama Republicans: The group will meet 2 p.m. in the Quinault Auditorium on the lower level of the Quinalt apartment building, 1835 Circle Lane, Lacey. The speaker is Javier Figueroa, Republican candidate for lieutenant governor. Information: 438-5641 or ron.ck722@gmail.com

South Sound P.E.O. brunch: Sound P.E.O. will hold its annual Reciprocity Brunch at 11 a.m. at Indian Summer Golf and Country Club, 5900 Troon Lane SE, Olympia. Cost is $16 per person. P.E.O. is a woman’s philanthropic educational organization dedicated to increasing opportunities for higher education for women. Stamp and Coin show: The Olympia Philatelic Society will host its spring show and sale, Roundup Stamp and Coin Show. 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Chehalis Yard Birds Mall, 2100 National Ave. N. Those interested in maritime history will find the display of “Universal Ship Cancellation.” Envelopes with special artwork and canceled stamps will be on display. Free stamps for children. U.S. Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors: River Ridge High School is hosting the U.S. Army Field Band’s Jazz Ambassadors from Washington, D.C. for a concert at 3 p.m., at the school, 350 River Ridge Drive SE, in Lacey. Three local students have a chance to perform with the group on one song in the concert.
