A girl, thought to be eight years old, was flown to a regional hospital on Saturday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash at Sleater Kinney Road Southeast and the southbound Interstate 5 on-ramp, according to the Olympia Fire Department.

Three adults and another child were taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital, Battalion Chief Pat Noonan said Sunday. The accident happened about 5 p.m. Saturday, he said. The girl was airlifted to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma.

The girl’s mother had called the department on Sunday to let the firefighters who responded know that she was in critical, but stable condition, he said.

Olympia police Lt. Paul Lower added late Sunday that a man has been arrested, in connection to the crash, on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular assault.

Other details were not immediately available.
