Collision diverts traffic in west Olympia

Two elderly people were seriously injured in a head-on crash Tuesday on Capital Mall Drive.

The driver of the other car was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Capital Mall Drive was closed westbound between Black Lake Boulevard and Yauger Way from about 11:40 a.m.-3:30 p.m., said Lt. Paul Lower with the Olympia Police Department. The collision was near Alta Street Southwest.
