Thursday

Living wage: The Thurston County League of Women Voters meeting will be at 6 p.m. at Traditions Cafe, 300 Fifth Ave. SW, Olympia. Mindie Reule from the Thurston Asset Building Coalition will introduce to the Economic Advancement Hub of the coalition. A representative from the Washington State Labor Council will talk about efforts to address the living wage. Information: 360-352-8220 or lwvthurston.org.

Nationwide Nurse-In: The second Nationwide Nurse-In will take place on the north steps of the Capitol. The event is designed to bring attention to public breastfeeding laws and end public breastfeeding discrimination. Information: jsoeltner@aol.com or call 989-954-5283.

Saturday

Rotary dinner and auction: Rotary will host its 14th dinner and auction at 5:30 p.m. at the Little Creek Casino and Resort Event Center, 91 W. state Route 108, Shelton. The cost of the sport-themed event is $75 per person. To purchase tickets or donate items, go to spsrotaryauction.org. Proceeds from the fundraiser go toward supporting projects such as SafePlace, The Family Support Center and the Hands On Children’s Museum.

Tumwater Kiwanis plant sale: Buy flowers, vegetables and hanging baskets to support Kiwanis-sponsored youth activities. Sale is 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Peter G. Schmidt Elementary, 225 Dennis St. SE.

Veterans Resource Fair: Groups that provide services, resources or opportunities to veterans and their family members will be at the Tacoma Dome, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Adopt-A-Pet plant sale: Adopt-A-Pet is having its plant sale from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the parking lot of the Shelton Our Community Credit Union, 2948 Olympia Highway North. Adopt-a-Pet is a nonprofit dog shelter at 940 E. Jensen Road, Shelton. Volunteer information can be found at adoptapet-wa.org.
