A Tenino car crash, Thurston County’s restaurant inspections and a sex offender accused of assaulting a Lacey hotel worker were among the most read stories on The Olympian’s website last week.
1. Teen driver flown to Harborview after two-car crash near Tenino. The road was closed for about five hours after the crash, according to the Washington State Patrol.
2. Find out which Olympia restaurant’s inspection generated a report that stated, “the result of this inspection was to close this restaurant immediately for a 24-hour period” in Restaurant inspections for May 25.
3. Suspect arrested in Olympia after high speed chase. The driver was traveling about 70 mph westbound on State Avenue toward East Bay Drive when he drove over spikes set up by Olympia police.
4. Sex offender accused of assaulting Lacey hotel employee. The man’s previous convictions include at least five counts of failure to register as a sex offender.
5. Man who drove truck through Olympia protesters issues apology. The driver said he suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, and being surrounded by protesters triggered a panic attack.
