Traffic alert: I5 south closed at milepost 87

Traffic alert. Southbound Interstate 5 has reopened at milepost 87, near Grand Mound, following an injury crash, according to the Washington State Patrol. Traffic remains heavy.

Trooper Shaneka Phillips said that one car crashed into a tree at about 3:20 p.m. All lanes of I-5 south were closed so that an Airlift Northwest helicopter could respond to the scene to airlift the victim to the hospital.

The lanes reopened just before 4 p.m.
