Oregon woman killed in I-5 wreck near Grand Mound
An Oregon woman was killed Tuesday afternoon after her car crashed into a tree off the right shoulder of Interstate 5 while she was traveling south near Grand Mound, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The 35-year-old woman’s name was not released pending notification of next of kin.
The woman’s vehicle was traveling southbound on I-5 about 2:45 p.m. when it swerved to the right, struck a guardrail and left the roadway, stopping once it hit the tree, the State Patrol said in a news release. She was wearing her seat belt and was the car’s sole occupant.
I-5 was closed while a helicopter landed to transport the woman to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. She later died.
