Friday

Ohio Northern University National Tour Choir: The First United Methodist Church will present a concert at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary, 1224 Legion Way SE, Olympia. The concert will begin with a sacred segment, followed by a segment including international and contemporary music. More information at onu.edu/choir_tour_2016.

First Friday concert: Unity of Olympia will host Seattle musician and songwriter Aaron English at 7 p.m. Free. Donations will be accepted for the International Youth Music Project. Information at internationalyouthmusicproject.org or Unity of Olympia at 360-943-5757.

An evening with Quaker poets: Join Quaker poets from the Olympia area for an evening of stories, poems and wisdom, 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the meeting house at Priest Point Park (Olympia Friends), 3201 Boston Harbor Road. Information: 360-480-8048.

Mason County Forest Festival Goldsborough Creek Run & Walk: Features a 7-mile run/walk, a 2-mile run/walk and a quarter-mile Junior Jog. Check-in and registration on the day of the event begins at 6 a.m. at the Shelton Post Office. The 7-mile walk begins at 7 a.m. while the 7-mile run and the 2-mile run and walk begin at 8 a.m. The starting line is at Shelton Valley Christian School with the finish line at the post office. The Junior Jog starts at 9:30 a.m. from the corner of Seventh Street and Railroad Avenue; entry fee is $12. All categories finish at the Shelton post office, with an awards ceremony to follow at 9:45 a.m. Information: MasonGeneral.com/creekrun.html.

National Trails Day: Volunteers are needed to help spruce up the trails at Lake Sylvia State Park. Volunteers should meet at 9 a.m., at the kitchen by the beach area. Bring gloves, string-trimmers, pruners, hand tools, lunch, and appropriate clothing and boots. No pets. Work will stop at 1 p.m. Lake Sylvia State Park is at 1812 Lake Sylvia Road N., in Montesano.

Feline Friends sale: The Close Out Plant and Garage Sale will be 9 a.m.-2 p.m., at Griffin School, 6530 33rd Ave., Olympia. All proceeds benefit Feline Friends. The cat adoption center will be open nearby. Information: feline-friends.net.

Interactive evening with author: Browsers Bookstore hosts Ned Hayes and actors performing scenes from Hayes’ best-selling novel, “The Eagle Tree”; 7-8:30 p.m., 107 Capitol Way N., Olympia. Information: 360-357-7462 or andrea@browsersolympia.com

American Cancer Society Relay For Life: Cancer survivors, caregivers, volunteers and community members will unite for the annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Thurston County. The timing of this year’s event has been altered to allow cancer survivors to participate in the Providence Cancer Survivor Celebration from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday.
