Local community groups organize vigil in response to mass shooting in Orlando
Three community groups have organized a vigil for Sunday night in response to the mass shooting in Orlando, Florida.
The vigil is set for 7 p.m. at Sylvester Park, downtown Olympia, according to a news release.
“Capital City Pride, Unity in the Community and Interfaith Works are shocked and grief-stricken at the horrific acts of hatred and violence in a gay night club in Orlando, Florida,” the news release reads.
“We call on all members of our community to come out to grieve our loss and to express love, comfort and support tonight.”
Those who plan to attend are asked to bring candles or lights.
