Traffic to be disrupted in two Olympia spots starting Wednesday
Traffic will be disrupted Wednesday (June 15) by two separate projects in Olympia.
Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction on Capitol Way between Southeast Ninth and 10th avenues while city of Olympia crews repair a water line. The closure will begin at 8 a.m., and the work is expected to be completed by 4 p.m.
More information is at olympiawa.gov/city-services/transportation-services.
Then Wednesday evening, drivers might encounter delays on U.S. Highway 101 as crews working for the state Department of Transportation repair and preserve portions of the freeway between Tumwater and Kamilche in Mason County.
The southbound Interstate 5 exit to northbound U.S. 101 will close from 10 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday. During the closure, a signed detour will be provided via Trosper Road and northbound I-5.
Single- and double-lane closures are planned on northbound U.S. 101 from Capitol Lake to Black Lake Boulevard Southwest during the night Wednesday through Friday. The lanes will reopen at 7 a.m. each morning.
