Beaverton man cited for negligent driving in crash near Centralia
A 55-year-old Beaverton, Oregon, man driving a truck and trailer was cited with second-degree negligent driving after a rear-end collision near Centralia on Tuesday morning.
The man was driving south on Interstate 5 in the right lane behind an SUV. When the SUV slowed for traffic, the Beaverton man failed to slow and struck the rear of the SUV. The truck and trailer rolled and blocked the inside lane of southbound I-5 near milepost 85.
The driver of the SUV, a 55-year-old female from Stanwood, drove the SUV away from the collision. The Beaverton man was injured and the truck and trailer were towed from the scene.
According to reports from Washington State Patrol troopers, no drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision and both drivers were wearing seat belts.
