Lacey Gateway Rotary receives awards at District conference

Lacey’s Gateway Rotary Club was recognized at the Rotary District 5020 annual conference with four awards for their achievements this past year. There are 90 Rotary clubs in District 5020. The Gateway Rotary Club was recognized with a first place Medium Size Club Growth award; a Central Membership award; a Membership Contribution award; and the District 5020 Literacy Award.

The Gateway Rotary Club was also recognized with the 2015-2016 Rotary International Presidential Citation Award Gold Level, as well as the 2014-2015 Every Rotarian Every Year Award from the Rotary International Foundation.

“These awards represent a lot of participation by the members of Gateway Rotary”, noted Jerry Farmer, President of the Gateway Rotary Club. He added, “These are people who make significant professional and personal contributions to our community and we are proud to count them among our Rotary members.”

The Gateway Rotary Club has about 115 members, and has a history of serving the local community and collaborating on international projects that improve the lives of people here and in developing countries. The Gateway Rotary Club supports Rotary International in achieving such laudable goals as the eradication of polio.
