Man floating down Nisqually River on air mattress injured in log jam
A man in his 40s is recovering from minor leg injuries after getting caught in a log jam while floating down the Nisqually River on an air mattress.
Lacey fire officials said the man was swept under the water for a short time. He was floating alone down the river near Riverbend Campground in Thurston County.
When fire units arrived, the man was on shore but needed help getting to the correct side of the river.
Lacey officials said the incident is a good reminder to always wear your life jacket.
