Festival on Capitol Green: The Olympia Symphony Orchestra has transformed its annual summertime outdoor concert into a full-day festival at the Capitol Campus. 1-8 p.m. Sunday; food served only until 6 p.m.; symphony concert at 6:15 p.m. Admission is free. Pacific Northwest Mushroom Festival: It’s all about the mighty mushroom from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Lacey-Thurston County Regional Athletic Complex, 8345 Steilacoom Road SE. Learn about mushroom culinary uses during cooking demonstrations, and discover what it takes to grow them at home. Admission is $5, parking is free. For more information, go to pnwmushroomfest.org.

Tuesday

National Night Out: The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office and local police departments will participate in the local and national crime prevention event again this year. Residents, law enforcement, youth groups and businesses come together to improve awareness of crime and drug prevention. Events are 5-7 p.m. at the Artesian Commons in downtown Olympia and at the Horizon Pointe neighborhood in south Lacey. 2016 Summer Lecture Series: This week’s lecture: “Common Northwest Marine Invertebrates,” begins at 7 p.m. at the Norm Dicks Visitor Center auditorium at Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, off Interstate 5 at Exit 114. Music in the Park: Olympia’s annual free concert series continues with classic rock from Blind Facsimile, 7-8 p.m. at Sylvester Park in downtown Olympia.

Music in the Park: Olympia’s annual free concert series hosts its one Friday night event, with Blues County Sheriff, 7-8:30 p.m., at the Port Plaza in downtown Olympia.

Three Interfaith Amigos: Unity of Olympia’s monthly First Friday program will feature Imam Jamal Rahman, Pastor Dave Brown and Rabbi Ted Falcon who will openly address the usual taboos of interfaith dialogue. 7:30-9 p.m. at Temple Beth Hatfiloh, 201 Eighth Ave., Olympia. No cost to attend but donations accepted for the InterFaith Works’ Compassionate Care project.

Saturday

Olympia Brew Fest: 1-8:30 p.m. at the Port Plaza in downtown Olympia. Attendees receive a souvenir mug and six tastes, choosing from more than 30 Northwest breweries. $25 in advance, $30 at the door, designated drivers are $5 and get all the root beer and water they can drink.
