2016 Summer Lecture Series: This week’s lecture, “Common Northwest Marine Invertebrates,” begins at 7 p.m. at the Norm Dicks Visitor Center auditorium at Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, off Interstate 5 at Exit 114. Seating starts at 6 p.m. Information: 360-753-9467.

Music in the Park: Olympia’s annual free concert series continues with classic rock from Blind Facsimile, 7-8 p.m. at Sylvester Park in downtown Olympia.

Wednesday — Sunday

Thurston County Fair: Fair hours are 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday, and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday at 3054 Carpenter Road SE, Lacey. Tickets can be purchased in advance at a discount at co.thurston.wa.us/fair or at the gate. Discount admission passes and carnival ride armbands are on sale now at the Thurston County Fair Office.

Dine for Homeless Kids: O’Blarney’s Irish Pub invites the public to dine there from 7 a.m.-2 a.m. to support the City Gates annual Back to School Backpack Giveaway. Owners say 20 percent of the day’s revenue will go to the cause. The pub is at 4411 Martin Way E., Olympia.

Listen Here — A Lunch Break Story Time for Adults: Hear professional audiobook narrator and voice actor Corey Snow read “Don’t Eat Cat” from Jess Walter’s collection of stories “We Live In Water” from 12:10-12:50 p.m. at the Olympia Timberland Regional Library, 313 Eighth Ave. SE. Music in the Park: Olympia’s annual free concert series hosts its one Friday night event, with Blues County Sheriff, 7-8:30 p.m. at the Port Plaza in downtown Olympia.

Three Interfaith Amigos: Unity of Olympia’s monthly First Friday program will feature Imam Jamal Rahman, Pastor Dave Brown and Rabbi Ted Falcon, who will openly address the usual taboos of interfaith dialogue. 7:30-9 p.m. at Temple Beth Hatfiloh, 201 Eighth Ave., Olympia. Free, but donations accepted for the InterFaith Works Compassionate Care project.

Saturday

Olympia Brew Fest: 1-8:30 p.m. at the Port Plaza in downtown Olympia. Attendees receive a souvenir mug and six tastes, choosing from more than 30 Northwest breweries. $25 in advance, $30 at the door, designated drivers are $5 and get all the root beer and water they can drink. Minors are not allowed. Proceeds support the Thurston County Chamber Foundation Small Business Incubator. Go online to buy tickets or sign up as a volunteer. Information: olybrewfest.com.
