Love Our Local Fest: This public, free, family-friendly northeast Olympia block party is at the corner of Bethel Street and San Francisco Avenue from 1-9 p.m. It offers food, music, healing arts and an artisan market. Information: loveourlocalfest.org.

T90 Quarrymen car show: The T90 Quarrymen car club will celebrate 15 years with its annual Show-n-Shine Car Show at Tenino City Park. Entry fee for participants is $15. Awards at 2 p.m. There will be a pancake breakfast hosted by the Masonic Lodge at 7 a.m. The Tenino Lions Club will serve bratwursts for lunch.

Wednesday

Music in the Park: Olympia’s annual free concert series wraps up for the season with the 56th Army Band playing jazz from 7-8 p.m. at Sylvester Park in downtown Olympia.

Summer Lecture Series: Global and Northwest Issues with Amphibians — An At-Risk Group in the Era of Climate Change, 7 p.m. at the Norm Dicks Visitor Center auditorium at Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, located off Interstate 5 at Exit 114. Information: 360-753-9467.

Aug. 27

Rainier Round-Up Days Wiener Races: Register dogs before the races, which start at 11 a.m., at Rainier City Hall, 102 Rochester St. W., across from the post office. Ribbons to 5 places.

Sept. 13

Tours of the Schmidt House: The Heritage Builders history program hosts free guided tours of Tumwater’s historic Schmidt House at 11 a.m. The one hour tours are led by Bob Crim, who for 60 years has been the caretaker of the house and grounds. The tour requires negotiating stairways to three floors and the basement level. Information: 360-786-8117 or email at history@olytumfoundation.org to reserve a spot or to arrange a group tour.
