Man arrested after police say he rammed their cars and led them on a high-speed chase
A SeaTac man was arrested Thursday after Nisqually Tribal police say he hit two patrol vehicles and led officers on a high-speed chase, according to court documents.
William M. Kreisman, 29, appeared before Thurston County Superior Court Commissioner Nathan Kortokrax on Thursday. Proposed charges against him include second-degree assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a stolen vehicle, attempting to elude a police officer and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Kreisman’s bail was set at $20,000.
According to court documents, at about 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, an officer spotted a white Ford Expedition in the Nisqually Red Wind Casino parking garage with no rear license plate and no temporary plates.
Thinking the vehicle might be stolen, the officer stopped two men as they got into the Ford at about 1 a.m. When the officer asked to see paperwork for the vehicle, the driver, later identified as Kreisman, “turned the Ford on, and rammed the rear of the Ford into the front of… (the) fully marked patrol vehicle.” He drove off, hitting a second patrol vehicle on the way.
Officers followed the Ford onto Yelm Highway, where it reached 100 mph, and then onto Pacific Avenue Southeast where it again struck a patrol vehicle before stopping.
Police determined the Ford was reported stolen on Sept. 6. Between the Ford and Kreisman, police found multiple driver’s licenses, debit and credit cards, and 34 keys for different makes and models modified for the use of stealing vehicles, according to court documents. Kreisman also had a pair of brass knuckles and a baggie of what he said was methamphetamine.
According to court documents, Kreisman told police he thought the Ford belonged to a friend and didn’t know it was stolen: “Kreisman said, ‘... I didn’t mean to hit your cars.’”
