Naked carjacking suspect arrested outside Shelton High School, police say

Police in Shelton say a carjacking suspect led them on a chase Wednesday afternoon and then took off all her clothes outside a school.

Police responded to the 300 block of Wallace Kneeland Boulevard at 12:30 p.m. for a report of a female suspect who had attacked a man and stole his truck.

According to police, the suspect drove the truck for about a block and then abandoned it on Wallace Kneeland Boulevard. She then jumped the fence onto a field at Oakland Bay Junior High, where she began taking off all her clothes. She was eventually taken into custody without incident on nearby North Shelton Springs Road near Shelton High School.

Oakland Bay Junior High and Shelton High School were put on lockdown during the incident.

The suspect, 31, was evaluated at Mason General Hospital and booked into the Mason County Jail accused of robbery. Her name was not released and she was refusing to speak with investigators Wednesday.

The victim was treated at Mason General Hospital for minor injuries.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Shelton detectives at 360-426-4441.
