Sex offender registers as transient in Thurston County

Eric T.E. Schweikl — formerly known as Eric J. Benien — has registered to live as a transient in Thurston County, the Sheriff’s Office wrote in a release Wednesday.

Schweikl, 22, is a Level 1 sex offender who was convicted for sexually assaulting an unknown 7-year-old female when he was 13, according to the release.

He pleaded guilty in Thurston County Juvenile Court in 2009 to child molestation in the first degree, and attempted child molestation in the first degree. He was sentenced to 15 to 36 weeks in custody.

Schweikl is described as a 5-foot-6, 250-pound white male with brown hair and brown eyes.
