Man convicted of sexual assault applies for nursing license

The state Nursing Commission charged a Thurston County man this month with unprofessional conduct after he tried to have his licensed practical nurse credential, suspended in 2001, reinstated.

David J. Boiselle has had three professional credentials revoked or suspended since 2001, according to the state Department of Health.

In October 2001, his licensed practical nurse credential was suspended after Boiselle failed to follow physicians’ notes, falsified medication records, and took a patient on errands without parent permission. He also went on vacation with a patient’s family without his employer’s permission.

In November 2003, the state revoked Boiselle’s massage therapist credential after he sexually assaulted a patient. He was convicted in Pierce County of fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation.

His paramedic credential was revoked in April 2004 as a result of the actions taken regarding Boiselle’s other credentials.

Boiselle recently applied for reinstatement of his licensed practical nurse credential, prompting the Nursing Commission to take action, according to the state Department of Health. The action will assure that a Health Law Judge presiding over Boiselle’s case will know about the actions taken against his massage therapist and paramedic credentials.

Boiselle could appear before the judge as early as January.
