They were fighting over a woman. Then one of them pulled out a hunting knife, police say
Police in Olympia say an argument between former roommates over a woman led to a stabbing late Tuesday.
Police were called to a home on the 600 block of Chambers Street Northeast about 11:15 p.m. The victim told police the men were out drinking to celebrate his recent enrollment in school when they met the woman, according to the police report.
The three of them went to the suspect’s house, where the men got into an argument. That’s when the suspect pulled out a hunting knife and allegedly stabbed the victim in his hand and abdomen, according to the police report.
The 23-year-old suspect was arrested at the home on suspicion of second-degree assault. The 22-year-old victim was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
