Man shot and killed after breaking into wife’s Grays Harbor County home

Authorities in Grays Harbor County say a man was shot and killed by his estranged wife after he broke into her house late Wednesday.

The 47-year-old man went to the woman’s home on the 400 block of Elma-Hicklin Road West outside McCleary with a knife. He broke in and fought with a 60-year-old man in the home before the 36-year-old woman got a gun and shot him.

This happened about 9:25 p.m. The woman had a protection order against her estranged husband, officials say.

Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Brad Johansson said the case is still under investigation but no arrests have been made.

“Right now I don’t think we have a crime,” he said.
