Do you recognize this man? Lacey police looking for mail theft and forgery suspect

Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man suspected of stealing checks out of a mailbox and cashing them at a bank in Lacey.

The victim reported July 17 that upward of $1,000 worth of checks she was expecting had been cashed by someone else, Lacey Police Sgt. Shannon Barnes told The Olympian. After the woman reported the crime, a Lacey police detective conducted an investigation that included writing search warrants.

The warrants recently yielded the bank account the checks passed through and photos of the suspect from the transaction, according to Barnes. Those photos, which were shared by the department on social media, clearly show the suspect’s face.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Lacey Detective Jimmy Williams at 360-459-4333 or Crimestoppers of South Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS.
