Lacey Police still looking for man who stole wallet from car wreck victim in September

Lacey Police are still looking for a man who allegedly stole a credit card from an injured and unconscious woman who had been involved in a September car wreck.

The collision reportedly occurred at the intersection of 45th Avenue Southeast and Ruddell Road in Lacey at about 8:45 p.m. on Sept. 3, Sgt. Shannon Barnes told The Olympian.

The woman, Anne Paich, told Q13 Fox Seattle her car was T-boned by an uninsured driver who was under the influence. A bystander, believed to be the man in the images shared by police, approached the woman before first responders arrived at the scene, Barnes said.

“While she was injured pretty severely, somebody reached into her car and took her wallet,” Barnes said.

Paich told Q13 she underwent surgery to repair a broken clavicle and had about 45 stitches in her shoulder, five in her face, four broken ribs and a bruised kidney.

During her recovery, she had to learn to walk again but still struggled with her balance due to a concussion, according to Q13.

Images of the man shared by police show him purchasing items at a Tumwater Walmart and Olympia Home Depot on Sept. 4. Barnes said she could not provide a description beyond what the images show.

In the images, the man appears to wear a gray T-shirt and jeans. In one photo, he wears a bandana as a face mask while a white baseball cap rests on his head. However, in other photos, the bandana appears wrapped around his temple and he wears a blue face mask. Police believe he drives a gray four-door sedan.

Anyone with more information on the man can contact the Lacey Police Department at 360-459-4333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-3477.
