Olympia police arrest bank robbery suspect minutes after crime is reported

Olympia police arrested a bank robbery suspect minutes after the incident was reported Tuesday morning, a police spokesman said.

About 11 a.m., police were dispatched to the Wells Fargo branch in the 1500 block of Black Lake Boulevard Southwest, Lt. Paul Lower said.

A man entered the bank, demanded money and grabbed at a bank teller before fleeing on foot, he said.

No weapon was displayed, so the suspect may have implied that he had one, Lower said.

The man fled south toward Percival Creek where he was taken into custody about 11:45 a.m. without incident, he said.
