Olympia police investigating fatal hit-and-run on Martin Way early Friday
Police in Olympia are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a man Friday morning.
The Olympia Police Department was dispatched at 2:45 a.m. to the 3400 block of Martin Way East on Friday morning. A person in the area had noticed a man in the middle of the road who was bleeding.
When police arrived, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Lt. Paul Lower said police determined he had been struck by a vehicle.
Police are still searching for the driver but have not released any identifying information to the public yet. Martin Way East near Providence St. Peter Hospital was closed until around 9:30 a.m. Friday, Lower said.
