Tumwater police investigate shot fired Tuesday morning

Tumwater police are investigating an altercation Tuesday morning in which a suspect fired a gun.

Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Dennis Street Southwest just before 8 a.m. after a witness reported seeing an altercation between several people gathered at a construction site. The witness reported hearing what sounded like a gunshot.

The people then fled the scene in their vehicles.

Officers arrived at the scene and found a single shell casing and damage where the fired round hit the asphalt.

The suspects are believed to have fled in a light-colored Toyota Camry with damage to the front windshield and a missing rear window, and a gray- or tan-colored Toyota with the trunk lid strapped down.
