Dirty Dave’s Pizza Parlor on Martin Way in Olympia was burglarized early Sunday morning, according to police.

Police were dispatched about 4:30 a.m. to the 3900 block of Martin Way East after a person walking past the business could hear an alarm and the sound of breaking glass, Olympia Police Lt. Paul Lower said.

The caller also reported seeing a pickup truck parked on the east side of the business.

While Olympia police were on their way, a Thurston County Sheriff’s Deputy already in the area saw a suspect exit through a broken window and get into the pickup. That truck then drove away at a high speed, Lower said.

Police followed the vehicle until the driver reached speeds of about 90 miles per hour and drove the wrong way on Fourth Avenue. Police called off the pursuit because it had become too dangerous, Lower said.

Police checked the pizza business and found a shattered window, overturned chairs and tables, and electronic kiosks that had been knocked over, plus four empty “teller boxes,” Lower said.

The suspect was last seen wearing dark clothing and a dark hoodie, with the hoodie pulled tight over the suspect’s face. The truck is described as a 1990 Dodge extended cab pickup truck, Lower said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Olympia police at 360-753-8300.
