Centralia Police arrested a 46-year-old Pe Ell man on suspicion of controlled substance homicide on Tuesday in connection with the July death of a 31-year-old Chehalis woman.

On July 14, Centralia police and detectives responded to a report of two deceased people in a vehicle on the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue. A woman in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, but medical personnel were able to perform life-saving measures on the 46-year-old man with her. He recovered.

After further investigation, the Centralia Police Investigations Unit developed probable cause to make their arrest. The Pe Ell man was booked into Lewis County Jail.

Fentanyl is the suspected cause of death in this case, according to a Centralia Police Department news release.

This investigation is ongoing. Centralia police encourage anyone with information related to the incident to call Detective Sgt. David Clary at 360-330-7680.
