Detectives were investigating the scene of a shooting Monday that left two people injured in the Nisqually Valley, Lt. Mike Brooks with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office said.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Jeremy Knight said the Lacey Police Department originally received a call about two individuals with gunshot wounds to their lower extremities at 1:11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4. The case was then transferred to TCSO after finding out the incident happened on Conine Street Southeast in unincorporated Thurston County.

Brooks said two people were walking back to their car on Conine Street when they were confronted by another vehicle. The two were robbed of their possessions at gunpoint. A fight broke out at some point, and at least one shot was fired.

Both individuals were hit and suffered non-life threatening injuries. They were taken to a hospital for treatment.
