Man in custody after robbery, shooting in Nisqually Valley area on Monday
One man is in custody for the robbery and shooting that left two people injured in the Nisqually Valley area on Monday, according to Thurston County Sheriff Derek Sanders.
Sanders posted on social media on Thursday that the Narcotics Task Force located one of the shooters at a home in the Lacey area.
Members of the Thurston County SWAT team responded with armor and a robot, he said, and the man was taken into custody without further incident.
According to jail logs, the 43-year-old suspect was booked into the Thurston County jail on suspicion of assault in the first and fourth degrees, as well as first-degree robbery while armed with a deadly weapon.
The shooting took place in the early hours of Monday, Nov. 4, on Conine Street Southeast in unincorporated Thurston County.
Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Brooks told The Olympian two people were walking back to their car on Conine Street when they were confronted by another vehicle. The two were robbed of their possessions at gunpoint. A fight broke out at some point, and at least one shot was fired. Both individuals were hit and suffered non-life threatening injuries. They were taken to a hospital for treatment.
