Bail was set at $150,000 for a Lacey man accused of setting a house on fire during a domestic dispute.

Mark William Balthrop appeared Monday in Thurston County Superior Court. He faces one count of first-degree arson and one count of fourth-degree assault/domestic violence. Judge Chris Wickham also issued a no-contact order between Balthrop and the victims.

Balthrop, 42, was arrested July 31 after Lacey police responded to a call about a dispute between a man and a woman at a home in the 4800 block of 42nd Lane Southeast. While police were on the way, Lacey Fire District 3 responded to a call that the home was on fire.

Crews extinguished a fire in the garage. No injuries were reported, although two occupants, including a minor, were in the house at the time of the fire, according to police.
