Sheriff’s Office asks public for video of truck driven by Tenino murder suspect
The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to share video of a truck driven by a man charged with murdering a Tenino woman.
The request was sent out via a new release posted on the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page Thursday morning.
Detectives are seeking video of a red truck driven by Jeffrey Zizz, 47, from April 1-2. The request comes amid an ongoing investigation into the death of Marcia Norman, an 82-year-old Tenino woman who went missing April 1 and was later found buried under a shed in Olympia on April 9. Zizz is currently being held in the county jail without bail.
Specifically, detectives want video from anyone who lives or works along the following streets and has security cameras facing the road: College Street corridor in Lacey, Yelm Highway near Henderson Boulevard, and Military Road Southeast.
The Sheriff’s Office believes Zizz drove along those roads at the following times and he may have had an enclosed utility trailer with him.
- Northbound College Street from 8:30 p.m. to 8:50 p.m. April 1
- Southbound College Street from 10:30 p.m. to 10: 50 p.m. April 1.
- Northbound College Street from 2:20 a.m. to 2:40 a.m. April 2.
- Military Road Southeast in either direction from 7 p.m. April 1 to 6 a.m. April 2.
- Yelm Highway and Henderson Boulevard area from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 2.

“Your footage — no matter how small the detail — could be crucial to the case,” the Sheriff’s Office said in their Facebook post.
Prosecutors charge Zizz Wednesday
The Thurston County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Zizz Wednesday with four counts: first-degree murder (premeditated), first-degree murder (felony murder), first-degree kidnapping, and unlawful disposal of remains.
With the first three counts, prosecutors allege Zizz was armed with a deadly weapon, that being a nail gun.
The two murder charges describe separate legal theories. The first alleges premeditation which requires acting with intent and planning.
The second alleges felony murder which happens when a defendant causes another person’s death in the course or furtherance of another crime or in immediate flight therefrom. In this case, the other crime is first-degree kidnapping.
Prosecutors also list aggravating circumstances in the first three counts. Specifically, they allege Zizz “manifested deliberate cruelty to the victim” and that he “should have known that the victim was particularly vulnerable and incapable of resistance.”
Those aggravating circumstances, if proven to a jury beyond a reasonable doubt, would allow prosecutors ask for a sentence above the standard sentencing range.
On Monday, Coroner Gary Warnock said Norman died due to blunt force injuries to her body and sharp force injuries on her head. He said she suffered reoccurring and compounding injuries for hours before her death.
“I’ve been with the coroner’s office for nearly 25 years, and 19 years as coroner, and this is the worst case I’ve witnessed,” Warnock said.
Court records show Zizz is due back in court on May 6 for his arraignment hearing.
