Be on the lookout for Mason County man wanted on felony warrants, sheriff’s office says
The Mason County Sheriff’s Office posted on its social media to be on the lookout for Jonathan Buffum, 26, who is wanted on felony warrants related to firearms offenses in both Mason and Thurston counties.
According to a social media post from May 21, deputies with the Mason County Sheriff’s Office attempted to contact Buffum in the 200 block of East Road of Tralee in the Lake Limerick community, northeast of Shelton, at around 3 a.m. Wednesday.
Buffum fled into a residence and refused to exit, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Due to credible information indicating he may be armed and considering his criminal history, the Mason County Regional SWAT Team was activated and responded to assist. Buffum was not located and remains at large, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Two firearms were recovered from the residence, one confirmed as stolen out of King County. New charges were referred for unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
