Lacey police hosting community meeting Tuesday
Lacey residents are invited to voice concerns and provide feedback at an Aug. 18 community meeting hosted by the Lacey Police Department.
Police Chief Dusty Pierpoint said there’s no set agenda for the meeting, and citizens are welcome to discuss anything they want. The meeting will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lacey Community Center, located at 6729 Pacific Ave. SE.
“I’ll be there, and we’ll have some other representatives of the department,” Pierpoint said. “People will have a chance to chat and interact with the officers.”
The meeting is part of a series of events hosted by the department this year in an effort to reach out to the community. Pierpoint hosted the first meeting in April, drawing a crowd of about 20 people.
This time other city representatives, including City Council members and possibly Mayor Andy Ryder, also will attend.
“We are committed to soliciting ongoing constructive feedback from city residents and business owners regarding our public safety and law enforcement efforts,” Ryder said. “The forum will provide an additional means of receiving that feedback.”
